1995 INT T444E. I am guessing that since it is an 'E' the governor would be computer controlled. If so, how do you reprogram it. I am looking at buying this bus so that I will have a spare when I sell 349. I lnow from experience that it will be governed at 45MPH, and I don't want to drive that far at that slow of a speed again.
As a side note, I'm planning to put 349 on E-bay with no reserve, so if anyone wants to bid....
I'm not that well versed on the computer controled IH. But like most engines these days I would say the engine is running at the proper speed. The computer might be set to run no faster than a certin MPH. That being said I can not believe that anyone would set one at 45 MPH. You might be what I called gear bound. Where your engine is running as fast as it can but the rear end is geared so low that you can not obtain the speed you desire.
Or it might be as simple as a trip to the IH dealer to have them put their computer on it and reset the MPH setting.
The Speed Can be reprogramed by anyone with a pro-link or computer Typically the password is 0000 when prompted. Dont bother setting it much over 65 anyway its just a waste.
If you run your vin # with a IH dealer they can tell you what the rear end ratio is and that will tell you how much speed you can get. Typically a 4.78 with 10R22.5 tires will top out at 62-65. Cutting the governor loose is no big deal with that prolink.
