Anyone have a tool to make compressing the 4 pistons easier? These are the ones used on the Visions. I'm tired of using screwdrivers and such. My other spreaders won't work. Snap-on is clueless.

Gotta love those caliper bolts right against the leafsprings. I did buy a 30mm 3/4drive setup to remove those. The pads wore uneven on both sides due to rocks stuck inside. The rotors are tapered as well. The reluctor is rusted up also, I get a random ABS at times so I may just install new rotors instead of turning them. This is a 2005 Vision BTW.

im changing 4 rotors on an 05 vision now. the rotors are fine just the tone rings rotted off and the abs is going nuts. i usualy compress the pistions one side at a time with a prybar, drop in the pad then do the other side. i really wish i had air brakes hyd just sux no matter how you look at it.

I agree on the air brakes. I put a set of pads on last time, and didn't turn the rotors. That was @42k, now @75k I am doing the pads and rotors both this time. They last longer than the GM brakes anyway.

I haven't coated any, what will work? I heard they made rotors with a stainless ring. The old ones just rot away don't they?

I have been painting the new ones as i put them on. Just using gray primer and reg black paint, seemed to make them last a little longer. Performance friction makes replacement rotors for the front with a stainless tone ring, but as of now I have been told they do not have them for the rear.

I have not used any of the PF rotors yet. I got the BB dealer to give me a set of rotors for every vision i had under warranty, but i just used my last set. I am looking into the PF's now.

Are these 2008s? How did you get them to warranty them. For the rust?
