That's the amount our school system will get from the county's general fund in FY 2005. I just got my car tax bill from the county and there was a thing in there that says where the money goes. WOW, that's like 1.5 BILLION bucks! And that's just county taxes....I'm sure they get lots of state and federal bucks too. Granted we got 235 schools, but that sounds like a lotta dough to me.
And our (Transportation Services) share of the pie is a measly $80 million or so. No wonder we still have some '86 Internationals in the fleet!
