As a mechanic, are we required under title 13 to pre-trip and fill out a DVIR prior to a test drive after repairs? Also, are we required to do so if taking a driver another bus in the event of an issue while on route?
The pre/post-trip form, yes. We don't and have never used a DVIR form because as a district ran system we are exempt from that regulation as we are from many other regulations. I can't answer for company ran systems.
