We have a 2001 international blue bird model 3000ser. Vin# 1hvbbabp71h384200. When the ignition key is turned to the accessory position so we can monitor the 2 way radio the headlights also come on. We have 4 other same busses that do not do this. On all of them the headlights come on when the ignition is turned to the start or on postion but only the one also comes on in the accessory position. Is there a way to make it so that the headlights do not come on when the key is turned to the accessory position?

If memory serves, the wire for the DRLs plugs in to the left hand side of the chassis fuse block, you should be able to move it to a source that is only hot when the key is on.

Why yes, the ORIGinal CHARGER is a Fastback

Thanks, I think I found it. There's a yellow wire plugged into the top left accessory slot of the fuse block. I moved it to an unlabeled slot in the top middle of the fuse block. Now the headlights come on only when the key is in the run position or if the headlight knob iteself is pulled out. Seems to have fixed the issue. Thanks again.

I had a similar problem - driving down the road the headlights would intermittently stop working; sometimes just a blink, sometimes they would stay out for several minutes. This was both high and low beams and DRL. The first time the mechanic fixed the problem, the DRL no longer came on. I will try to ask the mechanic who worked on it this time to tell me what he did.
