We thought you might be interested to read this news story. Todd Isaacs of District Solutions says that school bus advertising can help cash-strapped districts raise revenue, and he points to the ads' record on the road. The approximately $15,000 that one district has raised so far is being put toward transportation for homeless students to after-school programs.
15 grand on 40 buses is peanuts. At what price do we put the risk of a distracted driver hitting the bus or a child? Have you ever seen a police car or fire truck with an ad on it? School buses should be considered in the same exact context, a vehicle that needs 100% attention in traffic - and not for a five dollar footlong ad.
I assume this "news story" is a paid advertisement as well.
