We have a 2001 international that had the Range Inhabater come on today. During the route while in reverse, it would not go anywhere. You can put it in drive, the bus would go sometimes! I pulled out the 40 amp fuse in the battery compartment and put it back in then it worked. Thats how we got it back to the garage. I cleaned connections at the battery of where the fuse wire went into but when I started the engine and put it in reverse and wouldn't work only in drive. Has anyone come across then problem!

You need to see if there are any codes logged into the transmission ECM. Push the two arrows, up and down at the same time and hold down until a code displays in the digital readout. It will flash three times then move to the next code. This code tells you what the problem was when the range inhibit light came on. If you have the diagnostic software you can do more. Have a mechanic check it out. It may be nothing more than a dirty or wet connection in the wiring harness.
