I was visiting the Blue Bird Factory in Mt. Pleasant Iowa in 1990 and on display in front they had a 4x4 bus new. You would need a ladder at each bus stop for students to get in. The step well was at about 5 feet high. I was told that bus was going to Alaska to a community where they have no roads. I wish I had a pic of that bus.

Wow that first photo is cool, but I would never park buses so close to the ocean... TOO much moisture!! |

The firewall caved in on the driver when he was pushed into another bus that was waiting at the X completly missed the motor which would've slowed down the bus a lot more but no he went right under the other bus because he was jacked up from being pushed into it even saw the windowsheild hit his helmet the only thing that stopped the bus was the front bumper hitting the rearend tires the guy was in bad shape had to be helicoptered to the hosptial will have more pics comming |

You can see where the back bumper was on that bus because the top part of the body was inside my bus even tore off my back door |
