This is probably a easy one for you guys. 2001 IH 4900 replaced both headlamps and now not charging. Dead on the amp gauge, ran for about 20 minutes till dead.??
Murphy's Law hard at work from the sound of it. I ran into this twice in my life. I belive you may find the alternator's voltage regulator fried and spiked the voltage when it went up. The alternator was the cause and the blown headlight's was a result.
