Los Angeles district awards GPS contract to Everyday Solutions

The transportation solutions technology provider will equip Los Angeles Unified School District vehicles with GPS applications under a three-year deal. Company officials report that benefits to using the system include improvements to student safety and access to information, as well as reduced maintenance costs.

Illinois bus drivers must perform child-check inspections

Under a new law, school bus drivers statewide are required to conduct end-of-route inspections to ensure that passengers are not left unattended. Failure to do so can result in a driver’s permit being suspended. The law also requires all school buses to be equipped with two-way radios.

Power pole falls on special-needs bus, no one injured

The small bus sustained only minor damage and none of the eight passengers suffered any injuries. One of the bus' mirrors may have snagged a support wire, causing the pole to break and fall.
