News that drew the most traffic on the School Bus Fleet website in 2016 covered fatal crashes, a driver protest, and a bus facility fire.

1. School Bus Driver Killed, 15 Students Injured in Crash at Denver Airport
In September, Colorado school bus driver Kari Chopper was preparing to leave the Denver International Airport when she apparently made a wrong turn, crashed into a pillar, and was killed. Fifteen students and three coaches were injured in the crash. Read the full story here.

2. Report: Bus Driver Didn’t Engage Brake in Crash That Killed Principal
A police report stated that Indiana school bus driver Christine Beeler left the driver’s seat without engaging the parking brake, causing the bus to roll forward in the January incident. The report also said that Beeler was distracted. Read the full story here.

3. School Bus Drivers Walk Off Job to Protest Wages, Working Conditions
