GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — WZZM reports that Josiah Daniel Curtis, 26, who broke into a school bus yard last year and stole a bus, was found not guilty by reason of insanity.
As previously reported, when Curtis was pulled over by authorities for driving erratically, he told them he was driving to Detroit to record music.
On Monday, Curtis appeared in Kent County Circuit Court for trial on multiple felony charges, including malicious destruction of property over $20,000 and vehicle theft, according WZZM. Curtis will be evaluated at the state Center for Forensic Psychiatry.
Curtis had caused approximately $50,000 in damage to several buses used by William C. Abney Academy during the incident.
