WALL, N.J. — Student Transportation of America Ltd. (STA) has been awarded two new contracts to provide transportation services to the Flossmoor and Will County school districts in Illinois beginning in the 2009-10 school year.

STA will add over 50 school vehicles to its fleet to serve the districts.

The Flossmoor contract is a “tuck-in” with existing operations. The Will County district, which provides service to students through an in-house operation, will convert to privatized service for the new school year.

“These are very strategic contract wins for STA and our Midwest region,” said STA chairman and CEO Denis J. Gallagher. “We are pleased to complete our sixth conversion and first in Illinois from an in-house operated transportation system to a budget-friendly privatized model.”

STA currently serves more than 200 school districts. The company said that it is continuing to pursue growth opportunities through acquisitions, bids and school district conversions across the U.S. and Canada.
