SUITLAND, Md. — A bus aide for Prince George's County Public Schools was fired last month for holding the head of a 6-year-old boy with special needs out the window of his moving school bus during an afternoon route in October.
MyFoxDC reported that the incident was prompted by a discipline problem.
District Transportation Director Michael Dodson learned of the incident, which was captured by a security camera on the bus, that evening. He told MyFoxDC that he suspended the aide from any jobs requiring contact with students the next morning.
Following a three-week investigation, the aide was fired. Dodson told the news source that he is considering increasing training for bus drivers and aides on how to handle students.
