LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A company that operated buses for a school system here, one of which was involved in an accident in June, is ending operations, WAVE 3 News reports.
On June 11, the left front tire on one of Commonwealth Bus Service’s buses blew, causing the vehicle to crash into the center median barrier on an interstate. Thirty-five of the 42 people on board were sent to the hospital.
On Nov. 8, Jefferson County Public Schools announced that it was suspending business with Commonwealth Bus Service until officials could further review the transportation contract, and now, a district spokesperson told WAVE 3 News that transportation officials have been notified that the company is going out of business.
