DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — Emirates Transport (ET) has announced plans to recruit 1,000 female school bus supervisors in response to growing demand for the service.

The company will provide the new supervisors with full job training covering transport and safety issues as well as child interaction skills, said Jasim Mohammed Al Shair, manager of the ET School Services Centre.

The latest recruitment drive aims to boost the student transport services provided by ET to private schools in all emirates, he added.

"Demand for bus supervisors has been increasing steadily since we started offering the service to private schools last year,” Al Shair explained. “We anticipate this demand to continue increasing for the upcoming academic year, which is why we already began the recruitment process and aim to have up to 1,000 new bus supervisors on our books by September.”

The ET School Services Centre already provides 5,500 school bus supervisors for government and private schools across the United Arab Emirates, according to the company.
