DALLAS — A select group of school bus operators and suppliers will convene here on Monday for the inaugural School Bus eXchange (SBX).

Two dozen school district and contractor officials have been chosen to take part in the two-day event, which is a partnership between the National Association for Pupil Transportation (NAPT) and School Bus Fleet magazine. The attendees received full scholarships to attend SBX for free.

The agenda includes working with “expert in residence” Mark Aesch on data-driven decision-making, roundtable discussions with peers, one-on-one consultations with suppliers, networking events and social functions. NAPT Executive Director Mike Martin will serve as emcee for the event.

During the roundtables, attendees will discuss such topics as fleet metrics, operational efficiency, technology and software, and driver shortages. The roundtables will be facilitated by Peter Mannella, Steve Kalmes, Steve Simmons and Brian Weisinger.

The event will take place at the Hilton Dallas/Rockwall Lakefront hotel.

Look for dispatches from SBX on the School Bus Fleet website next week. An in-depth report on the event will appear in the June issue of School Bus Fleet. For more information about SBX, go to www.schoolbusxchange.com.
