SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — Jason Wang has joined Transfinder as vice president of technology.

In the role, officials said Wang will lead the development, R&D and quality assurance teams, as they reinforce the foundation of the company's core software products to support clients worldwide and enhance solutions for administrators and educators.

Wang has worked in education for over 20 years, beginning as a research analyst for the graduate school of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Chengdu, China, where he also earned a master’s degree in economic regionalization.

Following his work at the academy, Wang came to the U.S. to earn his Ph.D. in urban and regional analysis from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Wang is founder of Worldwide Learning Services, an educational consulting software development company. Officials said he joined Transfinder in order to make a greater impact on K-12 education.

"Dr. Wang's impact on our development and R&D efforts will be significant, as he brings a dedication to K-12 education and intends to steer the company's development and R&D programs toward creating solutions that meet today's unique educational challenges,” said Antonio Civitella, president and CEO of Transfinder. “He also will attract top talent to the company, ensuring that Transfinder remains at the cutting edge of technology."
