Arnetta Robinson, a driver for Shawnee Heights Unified School District #450 in Tecumseh, receives the top prize in the Kansas Lottery’s $2 instant scratch game Blue Line Slingo. She says her plans with the winnings include making car repairs, buying some new clothes and filling her freezer with groceries.

TOPEKA, Kan. — The new year is off to a great start for bus driver Arnetta Robinson, who recently won the top prize playing the $2 instant scratch game Blue Line Slingo.
Robinson, a driver for Shawnee Heights Unified School District #450 in Tecumseh, won $10,000 in the Kansas Lottery game.
"I was scratching my ticket to pass the time while waiting for my takeout order at a Mexican restaurant," Robinson explained. "I was so excited when I realized I had won $10,000 that I jumped up and down and almost left without my food!"
Robinson has previously won prizes of $4,000 and $1,000 playing Kansas Lottery instant scratch tickets.
"It's my favorite pastime," she said. "I don't ask for much. I usually win a little bit at a time. I figure if I'm destined to win a bigger prize I will, but I mainly play for enjoyment."
Robinson had not yet told her husband about her winnings when she claimed her ticket at the Kansas Lottery headquarters in Topeka.
"I'm going to surprise him when I walk in with this big check," Robinson said, referring to the large ceremonial check the Kansas Lottery gave her in recognition of her win.
With her winnings, Robinson said she plans to make car repairs, purchase some new clothes, fill her freezer with groceries and buy her husband a "30-pack of Budweiser."
