Transfinder solution achieves service record
Transfinder's Infofinder i enables parents to see their bus stop information on their district's website. At peak usage on Aug. 22, Infofinder i handled 235,952 address searches and 3,407 simultaneous requests per minute. This was a 30-percent and 42-percent increase over last year, respectively.
SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — Transfinder has achieved a record number for providing clients with uninterrupted service on its cloud hosting solution, Infofinder i, on the busiest school day.
Infofinder i enables parents to see their bus stop information on their district's website. At peak usage on Aug. 22, company officials said Infofinder i handled 235,952 address searches, outpacing last year's results of 178,623 address searches (a 30-percent increase), and 3,407 simultaneous requests per minute compared to last year's 2,400 simultaneous requests per minute, a 42-percent increase.
Infofinder i provides measurable cost savings by reducing phone calls to districts, and adds considerable value to parents with busy schedules, according to the company.
"As these new technologies emerge, Transfinder is eager to discover their capabilities and leverage them to enhance our own solutions and service to clients," Antonio Civitella, president and CEO, said. "This solution is one of the easiest ways that we can both free our clients' time so they may increase their work efficiency, and offer a tool for parents that provides vital information right at their fingertips."
Transfinder utilizes the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud and Amazon Simple Storage Service to achieve the high capacity demand required by school districts on their busiest days.
Cloud hosting is the practice of running web applications in a "cloud" ─ a collection of external, virtual servers that are interconnected. It provides a resource that is infinitely scalable, reliable and available, with little or no regard to a system's underlying technology or physical location.
