Canadian pupil transportation event to tackle timely issues
Sessions during the biannual Canadian Pupil Transportation Conference, scheduled for May 16-19, will cover such topics as illegal bus passing, fuel management and seat belts. A trade show will also be held.
OTTAWA — The 2010 Canadian Pupil Transportation Conference (CPTC), to be held here May 16-19, will feature educational workshops, breakout sessions and golf tournaments, along with networking opportunities and best practices to enhance pupil transportation operations.
Session topics include how to use GPS effectively, illegal passing of school buses, fuel management and operational efficiency, and school bus crash testing and seat belt research.
The conference will also feature keynote speeches by CTV/TSN Sports broadcaster Brian Williams and Rex Murphy, commentator for Canadian Broadcasting Corp.’s (CBC) News’ The National, host of CBC Radio’s Cross Country Check-Up and a columnist for The National Post.
A trade show will be held May 18 at the Aberdeen Pavilion in Lansdowne Park.
