A school bus driver in Milwaukee is accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl on his bus on Wednesday, March 1. According to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, the girl was excused early from school because of illness and was supposed to be transported to a relative’s house. Instead, the 29-year-old bus driver took her to a remote location and allegedly sexually assaulted her. Police say he then dropped the girl off at the relative’s home and warned her not to tell anyone of the assault. The girl told a relative, who notified police. The driver, who works for Lakeside Bus Co. in Milwaukee, was suspended from his job. He was convicted of armed robbery nine years ago, but felony convictions more than 5 years old do not necessarily disqualify someone from driving a school bus in Wisconsin.
