ANCHORAGE, Alaska — School bus contractor Forsythe Transportation won nine of the 10 trophies awarded at the Alaska School Bus Safety Competition held May 16, including the “Traveling Trophy.”

The Traveling Trophy goes to the terminal with the highest score for the year's competition. The individual with the highest score for this year’s roadeo was Sheila Van Weel, a bus driver for Forsythe's Eagle River terminal. Van Weel will represent Alaska and Forsythe Transportation at the 39th Annual School Bus Driver International Safety Competition in Greensboro, N.C., on July 18.

"We are once again very proud of our team of employees that have made our safety program a success," owners Bill Forsythe and Mark Foster said in a press release. "Safety is our highest concern, and excellent maintenance helps provide the safest buses."
