Harmonic Footprinting has released its proprietary Thermal Cycling, which company founder Frank Masyada has developed for over 10 years.

The Thermal Cycling process significantly reduces corrosion to the metal components within school bus brakes, thereby increasing their life expectancy and enhancing their overall performance.

Brakes fail as a result of severe residual stresses that occur during the manufacturing process. These imperfections at the molecular level strain brakes and limit the amount of stress they can absorb. The imperfections also cause brake parts to dissipate heat unevenly, which leads to excessive wear and warping. The more molecular imperfections brakes have, the more skid or swerve a driver is likely to experience.

Thermal Cycling removes these areas of stress and balances the substructure within the body of the brake.

The process realigns the brake’s molecules to create a better metallurgical part, maximizing its uniformity, density and strength while simultaneously minimizing its imperfections.

An optimized molecular structure, in turn, dramatically improves energy conductivity, heat distribution and the brake’s ability to absorb stress without swerve or skid.
