In Mississippi, a 12-year-old boy who was struck by a truck as he was crossing the road to board a school bus was airlifted to the hospital. He is responsive and has a broken leg, sources say.

Public School District, experienced complications from surgery to remove the tumor and was on medical leave for several months, during which time a tornado greatly impacted his operation. Barnes is now back at work and is focused on getting his department fully staffed.
The tornado that struck Forrest and Lamar counties on Sunday affected nearly all of Hattiesburg Public School District’s buses, so schools were closed for several days. With buses on loan from neighboring operations, the district is able to resume transporting students on Thursday.
