HIGH POINT, N.C. — Thomas Built Buses has temporarily suspended its production operations after one of its employees tested positive for COVID-19.

Andrea Corso, a spokesperson for Thomas Built Buses, told School Bus Fleet that the temporary suspension, which began on Monday, will last until April 6, when production staff return to work.

“The safety and welfare of our employees is our highest priority," Corso said. "As such Thomas Built Buses, in conjunction with our UAW partners, have decided to implement a temporary suspension of all normal production operations for two weeks."

The employee who tested positive for COVID-19, according to Corso, worked at Thomas Built Buses’ C2 plant, and is the only known case within the company.
