SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. — Alternative transportation company ALC Schools (ALC) recently announced that it is marking significant milestones, including nearly 2 million passenger trips and the one-year anniversary of its North Carolina facility.

At the close of 2019, ALC had completed more than 1.75 million student passenger trips and 17 million miles driven, according to a news release from the Southern California-based transportation provider.

ALC Schools provides state and district student transportation as a supplement to school districts’ busing systems. By utilizing smaller passenger vehicles to transport the districts' most vulnerable students, including special-needs, foster, and hard-to-serve trips, ALC executes approximately 11,000 trips per day, according to the transportation provider.

ALC credits its employees, service providers, and drivers across the country for their dedication to safety and consistency with a focus on each student's unique needs.

“From our routing and optimization team to field operations, compliance, and live dispatch, we never lose sight of our commitment to meeting the needs of that one student,” said Gregg Prettyman, ALC’s chief operating officer.

Offering more than a decade of experience, ALC leverages proprietary routing software to deliver safety and consistency, featuring a transportation model designed to ensure that students have the same driver every day, as well as cost savings to school districts, according to the alternative transportation provider.

Meanwhile, the transportation provider is marking the one-year anniversary of its dispatch and operations center in Raleigh, N.C. Working in tandem with its dispatch and operations center in St. George, Utah, the Raleigh operations center provides comprehensive, nationwide dawn-to-dusk dispatch coverage for ALC’s district customers.
