PROSPECT PARK, Pa. — Student Transportation of America (STA) recently raised nearly $10,000 for the STI Cares Foundation, the school bus company’s philanthropic arm, as well as a local cancer support charity.

The 2019 Designer Bag Bingo charity event took place on Feb. 23 in Prospect Park. The event, which was spearheaded by STA’s Teri Kramer, received significant community support, with numerous designer bag, monetary, and raffle item donations, and had a large turnout, according to STA.

The event also raised funds for local cancer support charity HEADstrong Foundation and The Turkey Fund of Springfield School District, a program within the district that supports local families in need around the holidays, and provides monetary support for families dealing with cancer.

The STI Cares Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has been assisting STA locations with developing localized volunteer programs to help raise funds for the foundation's scholarship and hardship grant programs, along with charitable contributions to local, regional, and national causes.
