LOS ANGELES — IC Bus made another stop in its national electric school bus tour at a high school here last week, with its concept electric school bus serving as a mobile learning lab for students.

Los Angeles Unified School District students were able to experience electric school bus technology firsthand at the Engineering and Technology Academy at Esteban Torres High School, with a demonstration of the chargE. Students also interacted with IC Bus engineers and learned about the complexities of transportation choices, real-world design of electric powertrains, and solutions for sustainable modes of transportation.

The IC Electric Bus tour highlights the benefits of electrification in school buses while showcasing the technologies available today. The first stop on the tour was in California, at the California Association of School Transportation Officials conference in San Diego in March. Soon after, the chargE made appearances in Sacramento, California, and Tacoma, Washington, in April. The chargE will visit more than 10 locations throughout the West Coast on the first leg of the tour.
