According to the Propane Education & Research Council, there are now more than 13,000 propane autogas school buses on U.S. roads. Seen here is the Blue Bird Propane Vision.

The number of propane school buses in the nation is on the increase, according to new data from the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC).

PERC reported that as of early November 2017, there were 13,232 propane autogas school buses on U.S. roads. The total is up from 12,854 in August 2017.

School Bus Fleet’s most recent research found a total of 474,194 school buses of all types in the U.S.

The state with the most propane school buses is Texas, with 2,600, or 19% of the nation’s total. California has the second-highest number of propane school buses, with 1,251, or 9% of the total.

In related news, IC Bus announced on Tuesday that it will fulfill an order of 44 CE Series propane school buses for Franklin County Schools in Russellville, Alabama.
