ALLEN, Texas — Anna Hamrick, operations manager for transportation at Allen Independent School District (ISD), has attained the status of Certified Director of Pupil Transportation.

Hamrick recently completed the coursework and exit exam to earn the certification through the National Association for Pupil Transportation. She is one of about 160 industry professionals who have achieved the director certification.

Hamrick started her career with Allen ISD in 1998 as a school bus driver. Since then, she has held multiple positions in the district's transportation department, including lead driver and dispatcher. She was promoted to operations manager in 2008. One of her key responsibilities has been to redesign all of the district’s school bus routes, with the goal of reducing costs.

“Anna persists in learning the system and keeping the team on track,” said Carl Cater, director of transportation at Allen ISD. “I’m personally impressed with the way she keeps the staff motivated and focused, even in the face of several obstacles.”
