hey guys i have this 2015 c2 the other day i had to go on a road call bus was in reduce engine mode it had code 3543 and the def quality light was on i ran a breif regen and cleared the codes and got it back to shop i did a full regen and the took it out for a ride it ran great but it on a route ran great for two days then it happened again code 3543 cam back and def quAILTY light on i put new def in it thinkin maybe its a bad bach cleared codes came back two days later any ideas i see it saying could be bad dosing unit

Get a refractometer to test your DEF in your storage tank and in the tank on the bus. Someone may have put something in the DEF tank and the residue left behind can give you a DEF quality code. It cheaper than a head unit if you don't need it.

ok i got back on this thing and i noticed there are also codes for the intake intermediate and outlet scr temp sensors so i went to data and the showed they where all at 150 degrees with engine idling and at operating temp so i am thinking i might had a bad scr temp sensor module but would that set a def quaily light?

I would get the engine serial number punch it into quickserve and see of there are any open campaigns or trp's . I have had that code with others and after they did the trp and or campaigns it came back fixed.
which I beleive is the scr update. also make sure ecm calibration is up to date.

ok will do just did an update i am replacing the doser gasket it came with a ceramic like gaasket which i assume goes onto the doser nozzle but wont that break once i tighten it. and whats a trp?

If you have a telescopic camera , put it in there and look to see if that grid in the tube is chalked filled with white def crystals, we have had a lot total plugged up. The valves overtime will end up leaking. pull tube and start digging out chunks and wash with water. make sure you dry it before it goes back in.

Sounds like a Freightliner chassis look at the main connector by the right rear spring shackle on the steer axle if its a Freightliner

2015 it should have a TRP for the SCR , does it still have the NH3 sensor mid way in the SCR - looks like a NOX sensor -
the TRP will replace the SCR and reprogram the ECM

it does have nh3 sensor i ran all our vins thru our dealer for the scr recall couple years ago and sent them the ones that where covered this on was not

check it again , I think they changed it to allow alot more thru this TRP we thought we have done them all also years ago also

Check the ECM calibration. Had one that would throw a DEF quality code every other day. Turned out it needed an update

i called frieght liner they said no trp for that vin but it does need an ecm update iam gonna do that also
i wanna change the def filter i am thinking its on the module atleast it looks like it is i went to quickservive to try and get a part number but its no listed does anyone no the part number its a 2017 c2 with cummins6.7 isb

Hmm, if your decomp tube is not plugged, dosing valve is not plugged and working and your def quality is good and no exhaust leaks then you got a bad scr.

without the actual DEF quality sensor in the DEF tank , it goes by the NOX sensors , and "guesses'" at the issue why the NOX is not dropping from the inlet sensor to outlet sensor

been backed up just getting back to this bus i figured before i break it how does the line come off the doser injector there is a little plastic clip but it doesnt look like it comes off no sure hoe the line comes off

i ran the engine number thru quickserve and i dont see anylink to check for trp the engine number is73643216 can some check for me and let me no if i am not looking in right place

That ESN has T2145 open for any VGT related codes , engine off warranty, not over 10 years old and under 185,000 miles
You just enter your ESN and click on service and top row of menu items you will find TRP

sry so long on the updates been going crazy but i did an ecm update i changed the def filter and its been on the road for about two weeks with no problems also it had a slow cranking condition found the ground wires bolted to the bell housing where corroded bad cleaned all that up and it cfranks good now have had no problems so not sure if it was the ecm update the def filter or the ground problem but like i said its been on road and driver has no complaints

ok so the bus is back went into limp mode same codes def quality code 3543 so i called a different cummins dealer and told them the story and they where like o yeah its part of the champain will order the parts and drop it off what the heck i was on the run around withthe other dealer fordays people kill me but i am sure thats the problem will update when it gets back from dealer

can u believe its been two weeks and the dealer just got the parts and there tellin methey are so backed up they dont no whenthere gonna get to it well still got a month til school starts hopes its done bythen and i will give u an update
