I have an 08 IC bus with the Maxforce 466 engine . The sensor in the converter is stripped out and part of the sensor is in the bung .I have read where some have rethreaded or even wielded in a new bung . If so where did you and what size was the bung ? I know it would cost a small fortune to replace the converter . So What is the best step here ? Thanks

IH has a kit to repair the threads, there are plenty of kits out there. I believe doorman has the weld on bungs here: https://www.dormanproducts.com/p-86459-904-457.aspx

Yea I do these all the time , most of the time I heat up and remove and use a flat bottom tap like dsalinas was saying , got one under 10$ on amazon , or I just cut out the old bung with a cutting wheel and weld in a new one . the new bung kit comes with a large enough square plate that covers the area where the old one was removed and the bung fits on top . if I cant remove the old egt sensor I cut out and weld if it can be removed I retap the hole
