We are having a lot of trouble with these brake pedal switches in our newest Bluebirds. I've spoken to our local dealer and they are aware of the issue and still have not came up with a solution or a new design . They say the bracket that bends is a Bendix problem. I have done some research and found out that this issue has been going on or since 2012. I found a recall going back to 11/15/2012. The campaign # is R12VR. Description of fault is "the brake light switch mounting bracket may have caused the brake light switch to be incorrectly adjusted and/or the brake light switch mounting bracket may deform when the driver allows the brake pedal to return forcibly". This may cause the brakes lights to stay illuminated.
The following consequences listed in the description. "Improperly functioning brake lights could confuse following motorists and fail to warn them that the bus may be stopping increasing the risk of a crash."
I may be wrong, but it seems to me they haven't changed the design or a thing. My 2018-2019 are doing the same thing. Maybe they just want to get rid of old stock inventory to increase profit share.

The 2020 models are different. I just received 4 of them 2 weeks ago and we checked. I have spoken with my dealer as well. I am asking Blue Bird to do a recall because not only do the lights stay on but if this happens while driving, it kills power to the throttle. This creates a very dangerous situation. I have had that happen to a few drivers.
