Is there an easy way to check the fan on an 09 All American RE? I have two of them and one runs hotter at both the engine and transmission than the other. Didn't know if there was an easy way to check fan engagement without having software to do it.
run both and check temp with a heat gun and when fans come on compare readings electric or electric clutch or air clutch engine fans? electric- sensor or wiring electric clutch- sensor, wiring or clutch material air clutch- clutch material, air regulator , wiring sensor all three have little tricks to check operation or it could run hotter due to a malfunctioning thermostat

This is an RE with the hydraulic drive fan. Wasn't sure if I could just hot wire the solenoid on the hydraulic valve block to make the fan run full speed?
Ditto on the other guys. Hydraulic powered fans usually default to full speed if theres an electrical fault so just unplug it and see if the fan speeds up. If its still running hot (and youve ruled out tstat, dirty or blocked radiator, etc.) then you might be looking at a hydraulic problem. A digital laser tachometer is handy for checking things like fan speed. And since you have a good running unit you could test both and compare your findings. Just for fun too you could run the fan at full speed and see if your steering is stiff too. If so that would be more evidence of a hydraulic issue.
