A faithful 1994 BB TC2000 Forward Control needs its turn signal switch replaced, and I cannot even figure out how to remove the "knob" with the horn button in it. The notches or fluting suggests... simply gripping it with a hand and twisting. But there are more notches than I have fingers on one hand, so maybe my logic is off. I am perfectly competent with steering wheel pullers and that sort of thing, but I cannot even get started on this job.

The knob as you call it, is not to be removed. Just put a pocket screw driver between the knob and the center rubber piece, which is the horn contact button. The contact button will lift out. |

Four decades of wrenching, and I'm still "too gentle" -- always worried I'll scratch something that didn't need to be scratched, even on a muddy old workhorse like this. LOL Of course, this is a BELOVED muddy old workhorse. And of course, as you say, the button lifted right out. Thank you for taking the time to assist me, Sir! |
