Hello,

Since Covid-19 is still rolling, what changes would you recommend to protect drivers and to make parents comfortable with putting their children on the bus? Partitions for drivers, increased space behind the driver, fewer students in bus, etc.?

nothing really is needed, if pupils sit in there seats properly, keep their hands to themselves, and wear masks what else can be done safely. its all down to the driver having complete control of the bus, if there is trouble makers then they can walk

Got your point. I just can't wrap my head around the fact that covid cases are still rising and some schools are allowing their students to go to school! And the news right now is all about some schools getting infection...

Staggered bell times to allow for double runs would enable 1 person per seat in some cases. Wearing masks and using hand sanitizer if allowed would be good protocol as well. If you keep the roof hatch up or the windows cracked open to aid ventilation, this will help provide fresh air. There's not much you can do to the actual bus that wouldn't present more serious issues.

Thanks, Sherm will take note of those pointers you mentioned. Keeping the roof hatch up or the windows open would be a good idea. :)

My district went to what they call a 3/2 model this year. Basically, half the kids go Mon-Tue, the other half go Thur-Fri, and they alternate Wednesdays. On the days they are not in-person, students do remote learning on district provided tablets/laptops. Masks are required of students, school/transportation staff, we disinfect buses after each run, and provide sanitizer to everyone.
