I have a bus leaking oil .It's an 04 RE 300 with a DT466 . The oil is coming out of the rear main seal . Do I need a special tool to install a new seal ? I had a tool for the older DT's If I need the tool would you happen to have the number ?

Rear seal installer is ZTSE4637 for 2004 engine with EGR. Not sure if it HAS to be used as I've never done one, but this is what Navistar OnCommand calls for. Hope this helps.

You are right on the border. If this has an EGR cooler seal tool is ZTSE4637 If it does not have an EGR cooler what you have will probably work.That should be a ZTSE4749

Mine has the EGR cooler and I had looked at one the ztse 4749 and with the cost I want to make sure I get the right one .

I rechecked the service manual. ZTSE4637 is for 2004 and up.Should be what you need. At 2010, (dual turbo's low mount EGR cooler) you need to add adapter ZTSE6054.
