I have a 2008 IC CE 300. The reverse lights work when bus is in reverse,the light monitor checks out. However, the reverse light's do not come on when the rear door is opened. I removed the lights,bench tested them,the rear door switch has been replaced as well, the ebuzzer operates as it should. This at this point is giving me fits.
thoughts? |

| My 2008 IC CE reverse lights do not come on when the rear door is opened. They were not wired that way. Did yours used to do that? |

Good question Aaron,
The previous mechanic was a bit of a hack in the electrical department.He made a mess of this bus. I'm not sure if they were wired to come on when the rear door opens. |

none of our 2008 IH have the reverse lights come on with rear door
Nova Scotia uses D250 specs on all buses |

| I just went out and checked 2 buses in the shop; a 2009 CE and a 2019 CE and niether has backup lights that come on when the rear door is open. I've never seen that option. |

| Could you post the last 8 characters of the VIN? I'd like to look and see it if has the feature code for backup lights with emergency door. It does exist. |

I see no mention of a feature code for that option, but to be fair there are two codes listed as unknown.
My wiring diagrams are for newer buses, so they may not apply to yours, but if my bus had it, there would be a relay in the cabinet outside, under the driver window for this. It would be relay 10308 on my bus, and called "Backup Light Relay".
I could also see it being on the cowl, under the hood, in that bank of fuses and relays up top there. |
