Hello there is 2 nox sensors I believe one after the turbo the inlet nox sensor and one past the SRC [the last sensor in the exhaust]outlet nox sensor. I only changed one and it was the outlet nox sensor on a bb with 6.7 2013. The sensor comes attached to the module and it was plug and play.
it is located just after turbo in the exhaust system, it comes with the harness and module (it gives you three options the only difference is the length of pig tail all will work (same with outlet also))

Be careful there. I had 2 ISL's setting nox sensor codes. I did as much as could with Insite before sending it out for warranty repair at my local Cummins dealer. I had told them I wasnt convinced that the nox sensors were bad and I thought the problem was with the catalyst. The sensors wernt covered under warranty, they replaced them and all the codes came back before I got it back to my shop. Then they replaced the catalyst (covered under warranty) and burned me for $2000. They insisted there were 2 separate issues but none of their diag paperwork made any sense when compared to the procedures on Insite, nor did they test drive it before they released it to me. The second unit (same exact issues and in their shop at the same time) they just replaced the catalyst. Needless to say those jokers wont get another dime from me.
just do a scr test under under ecm tests and make sure outlet is reading lower than inlet for ppm , an outlet nox sensor would pick up bad scr but the inlet would not , most codes for nox sensors are quite simple usually unplug and check for another code if it comes active then replace the only codes that ned testing are nox eff. codes and etc.
