I saw a child this week standing in the bus aisle before he grabbed onto the handrail and went down onto the stairs next to the entrance door. How are you supposed to drive the bus while trying to make a left-turn in traffic and try to get a child out of the stairwell when that child is refusing to listen? Considering the money that many school districts waste, perhaps paying for bus monitors to ride along would be a better expense. Spending millions of dollars on cameras to monitor the children doesn't improve safety on the bus, because the cameras can't do anything when there's a safety problem.
