i'm helping a friend with a blue bird international 3800 dt466 from 1997. this-> ( http://www.flickr.com/photos/sixmilliondollardan/6839770693/in/photostream )

would love to get a hold of a service manual for the engine.
found this ( http://www.truckmanuals.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=295 ) for $200,
and this ( http://ca.navistarserviceinfo.com/store/p/1377-DT408-DT466-530-ENGINES.aspx ) for $67

are those 2 the same manual?

and of course wondering if any options for something cheaper...

Just an educated guess without seeing the manuals I would say they are the same. The item numbers even look very similar. Good luck.

They are the same. Both are EGES1052.
This is the engine REPAIR manual. This not the DIAGNOSTIC manual.
A '97 DT most likely has the 3Box injection system.
I believe that manual is EGES145 but I'm not at work so I'm not certain.
If it doesn't fit, FORCE it.
If it breaks, well, it needed replacing anyway.

You might check and see if they still have ISIS 08 standalone on dvd.

If I'm correct, the DT466 and DT530 went electronic and they discontinued the DT408 in 1997
I may be a Thomas fan, but I C the good in IC
