Have 2 2005 Freightliners with the OM906 LA Mercedes engines. When the buses are plugged in we are getting a rotten egg sulphur odour on start up coming from the engine breather tube (crankcase) and the odour goes away after the engine warms up. We checked the egr valve and cooler but they are ok. When the buses are not plugged in there is no odour. We are still using the same oil but I am now checking to see if there where any additives put in the oil. They have block heaters and oil sump heaters right inside the engine. The buses run perfect otherwise. No leaks anywhere.
