IPR went up 80% while cranking, ICP still remains around 10psi, does it means air inside High pressure oil system or big leak somewhere? |

make a jumper and have 12v to IPR (no longer then 40 seconds) and see if it full fields and produces 5000psi or so engine oil pressure reads on gauge or lap top pull the oil temp sensor does oil run out , if not there is a front cover issue with the ICP out , the oil should shoot out and make a big mess i figure the IPR is new since the HPOP is new |

Thanks, Bluenozer, I did already, jumper IPR with my other 12V battery, positive to one pin and negative to the other pin for 30 seconds, make it no different.(I guess I should buy pigtail to connect it properly, I just make the connect to hoop up) and open oil temp sensor, there is oil comes out right way. with ICP out, I can see oil flow out from first 5-7 second since cranking, if I use my finger block the hole for few second when cranking, I can feel the pressure and it shoot out if I move away my finger. Yes, IPR and HPOP are all new. |

Even switch with other bus ECM and IDM, make nothing different, cranking no start, check the IPR pin to ECM X1-12 and X2-24, continuity is good with almost 0 ohms, looks not IPR power problem. What's else? |

Have you cranked it over with the valve cover off? |

Bluenozer, is there valve in the oil rail? Where is it? I saw there are two plug on the rail and two plug at the end(one plug on each side end), which is the valve dumpin oil back to pan? |

That i don't know , not even sure if there is a part call out for it , but there is a valve in one end |

Bluenozer, I guess I know what's you are talking about, I saw some truck oil rail has oil pressure release valve on one end, little plug just beside the big plug, but for my 2006 international school bus, it doesnot have that little hole on either end of oil rail. Donot know what's next? |

No, nothing wrong at all. We do it so we can see if anything's leaking; especially on a crank won't start. Got a '09 MFDT ICP unable to build in the shop right now... |

install gauge on oil line out of pump and full field it and see if the pump is working, maybe a cracked head where the oil passage is, if it was a cracked oil rail or injector cups leaking bad you would've seen it when you had the valve cover off |

Bluenozer, if cracked oil rail, should I see the oil leaking from oil rail or it's possible inner leak? And cracked head and inject cups should not bother bus start, as soon as high press oil feed injector, bus should fire, right? |

before any parts were replaced, the orig concern, were there any codes in the system? Have you tried to start it with the icp sensor unplugged? |

exmod110, I replaced High-pressure oil manifold injector oil inlet adapter seal(back up ring and seal), even the injectors oring, make nothing different, try to start with the icp sensor unplugged make nothing different, got code 335 unable to build pressure at engine crank. It's only 60PSI when engine crank |

60 psi would be just the engine oil pressure , that HPOP must be bad , and if there was a leak on rail you would see it 4 sure , never seen a leak so bad that the ICP reads only EOP , only seen that when a HPOP goes bad ., even a bad IPR would still read higher on the ICP |

I think dead heading the HPOP would be the next step. could the drive gear on the pump be loose? |

I had an 06 have part of the fuel filter header come apart and block the fuel primer plunger open keeping the truck from building fuel pressure. I never checked oil pressure during this. Would this be at all a possibility here? |

Easiest to do this is get an adapter to fit the cyl head end of the hose that goes from the HPOPto the head. Then get a gauge, 0-10,000psi is good. Couple ways to check for under valve cover leaks. Simplest is the put clean dry shop air inti the fitting on the head that the hose from the HPOP connects to. Put as much air pressure in as you can and listen/look for leaks. (if the valve cover is off). If you have nitrogen around fo testing A/C that lets you put more pressure in. I've seen guys use porta powers. I deas is to get pressure in there. |
