The C2 I drive does not have the exterior door control switch (air doors). Manual lists it as an option. Is there any other way to open that door from the outside with the bus running, short of climbing in the rear emergency door?

I became aware that it’s possible to leave the bus and find that the door closes once the air pressure has built.

is there a switch above the door (red) that says emerg. and normal on it
what year? before def there was a little door(by the pupil door) that you open with the same switch behind it also
I thought it was a safety thing and there has to be a switch outside?

Sure, it has the regular interior emergency/normal switch. I'm talking about outside. The manual lists a key switch as an option but I don't think any of ours have that (but I don't even know what I'd be looking for, as the manual doesn't show it).

I have seen in pictures of some later C2s there is an emergency access switch just forward of the doors. I'm guessing that works like the interior emergency/normal switch by depressurizing the door cylinder.

The FS-65s and Saf-T-Liners have a door switch in the exterior electrical box, but the C2 doesn't have such a box. I don't think that would open the door anyway; I get the impression that that switch chooses between normal (panel controlled) and force closed.

Can anyone direct me to a pic of the exterior key switch that the Thomas manual refers to?
