COLLINSVILLE, Ill. — Two men were charged last week for stealing 35 batteries from First Student school buses, according to a story on stltoday.com.

Danny Kelly and Michael E. Kniser were charged with burglary by Madison County authorities. Bail for Kelly was set at $30,000, and bail for Kniser was set at $50,000.

As previously reported, First Student employees discovered the thefts in June, and investigators said the thieves left evidence at the scene and that footage from surveillance cameras at the facility would be reviewed.

Around the time of the thefts in Collinsville, around two-dozen batteries were stolen from Peoria (Ariz.) Unified School District buses.
