Scale Microgrids, a vertically integrated distributed energy company, has entered a non-exclusive partnership agreement with EO Charging.

Under this pact, the firms will collaboratively explore avenues to furnish electric vehicle fleets with swiftly deployable charging solutions. These solutions will feature highly reliable charging equipment powered by resilient, cost-effective on-site energy systems known as microgrids.

EO boasts nearly a decade of experience in providing EV charging infrastructure across the United Kingdom and Europe, including facilitating more than 25 million public EV bus miles for London's transit fleets.

Now expanding its footprint in the United States, the company pledges to offer transit, school bus, and commercial fleets better than 99% uptime. Scale has a demonstrated history of constructing microgrids for EV trucking and transit fleets. This positions Scale to facilitate a comprehensive charging solution by integrating EO's charging infrastructure with up to 100% resilient on-site energy systems, incorporating solar, batteries, dispatchable generation, and advanced controls.

In tandem, the two entities will assist trucking and transit fleets in expediting their electrification endeavors. This partnership will enable them to circumvent delays associated with utility service upgrades, trim operational costs through optimized charging and energy management, and ensure maximum uptime through a blend of charger availability and electricity supply resilience.

"Fleet operators frequently cite electricity supply as a significant hurdle in their EV transition. This apprehension stems from obstacles linked to utility capacity upgrade timelines, ownership costs, fueling expenses, and the vulnerabilities posed by charging station downtime," said John Walsh, president of EO Charging, Americas. "Through our collaboration with Scale, we aim to furnish our clientele with a comprehensive fleet electrification solution, facilitating prompt, cost-effective, and remarkably reliable vehicle charging."

"We're thrilled to join forces with a charging provider boasting EO's track record of efficacy and performance," stated Chris Cantone, chief revenue officer at Scale. "The demonstrated reliability of their charging hardware holds immense value for fleets. The synergy between their advanced charging management system and our cutting-edge microgrid controls promises innovative eMobility solutions for our clients."

The two companies will offer turnkey charging solutions nationwide, with a focus on regions grappling with grid capacity constraints and exorbitant utility demand charges. EO will spearhead depot design and charging equipment installation, integrate its EO Cloud charge management software, and ensure round-the-clock operations and maintenance, backed by a 99% uptime guarantee. Scale will oversee the design and installation of on-site distributed energy infrastructure, energy management and optimization, and provision project financing.
