The National Association of State Directors of Pupil Transportation Services (NASDPTS) has hired a successor for Jennifer Bruce, the organization’s administrative and membership services director.

Tammy Mortier takes on the role at NASDPTS after about two years serving as executive director for the New York School Bus Contractors Association (NYSBCA). She will continue to serve the New York association at the same time.

“I am thrilled to join the NASDPTS team, and I am looking forward to working with school transportation professionals on a national level,” Mortier said. “I am pleased to be in a role where I can be a resource in supporting NASDPTS’s mission to provide leadership, assistance, and motivation to the nation’s school transportation community.”

Mike Simmons, Arkansas’s state transportation director and president of NASDPTS, announced Mortier’s hiring in an email to association members.

Said Simmons: “Tammy has specialized in association management and marketing for over 24 years, and she is poised to ensure a seamless transition for our association and our members.” He noted that Mortier is familiar with programs that NASDPTS relies upon, including the membership database (Wild Apricot) and accounting software (QuickBooks).

Mortier’s start date is Dec. 5. Bruce is expected to remain on-hand until Dec. 16 to ensure a smooth transition.
