SAUGERTIES, N.Y. — Woodstock Safety Mirror Co. now provides a full, four-year warranty from the date of delivery for its school bus stop arms.

The new warranty is twice that of the company’s previous warranty, which was two years.

In addition to its left-side front and rear stop arms, Woodstock now offers a right-side, infrared camera with a monitor on the dashboard to enhance the driver’s view of the danger zone.

The new camera system replaces Woodstock’s original product, which was a right-side stop arm backed with a mirror. Company founder Gloria Buley came up with the idea for that product after hearing a training presentation on loading and unloading fatalities as a school bus driver.

Woodstock is also preparing to further expand its offerings with school bus crossing arms and roof hatches. The company’s stop arms and crossing arm all use the same drive box to help cut down on parts, and they all feature the four-year warranty.
