Last month, the Harris County (Texas) Sheriff’s Office performed school bus assault training using Humble Independent School District (ISD) buses.

Humble ISD worked with the police during their vehicle assault training and loaned a school bus to the sheriff’s training center. Humble ISD transportation and police department employees participated in a simulated hostage takeover with students on board a school bus.

The FBI also blew up a Houston ISD school bus at the sheriff's training center to study blast forensics.

“Supporting our sheriff’s department in these training exercises helps all of us be ready for any event that may happen; student safety is our top priority,” said Jeff Prowell, director of transportation for Humble ISD.
